Due to COVID-related concerns, the Philadelphia Section AIHA has made the difficult decision to return to virtual meetings and seminars for the near future. For our next virtual seminar, we are pleased to present “EHS Urban Legends.”
Do you think you know EHS fact from fiction? For example, is HAZCOM training required annually? What law requires disinfectants to be approved, and by whom? Our speaker, Bruce Donato, will lead us in an interactive and fun virtual seminar that helps you know what is true and what is, in fact, urban legend.
Bruce Donato is a principal with K & A First Aid and Safety providing safety consulting and emergency preparedness services for many industries. Most recently he has been lecturing nationally about the pandemic including how to prepare for the next phase and how to return to work.
Mr. Donato has been the executive director, president, and chair of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP), the Chair of the AIHA Local Section Council, and the Deputy RVP of ASSP Region VI. Locally he has held every position in the Potomac Section of AIHA.
He holds a BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and has over 35 years of industrial experience. He has worked in the federal government and for chemical, textile, and biotechnology companies including DuPont, Hoechst Celanese, and Life Technologies. Mr. Donato is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) Certified Ergonomics Compliance Director (CECD), Emergency Responder Instructor, and Instructor Trainer for the American Heart Association, and the American Safety Institute. He is also a Zenger-Miller Instructor and trained facilitator. In addition to his safety experience, Mr. Donato has held positions as a design engineer, plant supervisor, research engineer, distribution manager, laboratory supervisor and facilities manager.
We will have limited places at this virtual seminar, and pre-registration (via Zoom) is required.
